Claire Provencher
CERAMICS
Claire Provencher is a native of Manchester, New Hampshire. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education in 1991 from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. In 2015 she received her Master of Arts in Art Education with a concentration in Ceramics from the New Hampshire Institute of Art. In 2020, she retired from teaching art in the Manchester School District since 1993.
Using three different cone 6 clay bodies (white, medium, and dark brown) she makes sculptural and functional work, primarily hand-built. Her home studio is equipped with an electric Paragon Dragon front-loading kiln. When she isn’t teaching art to children or manipulating clay, Claire enjoys riding her motorcycle and teaching others how to ride through the State of New Hampshire DMV Motorcycle Rider Training Program. Claire is currently the Co-Chair of the New Hampshire Potters’ Guild.
